　　I am a third year master major in automation at ×× University, P. R. China. With tremendous interest in Industrial Engineering, I am writing to apply for acceptance into your Ph.D. graduate program.
　　Education background
　　In 1995, I entered the Nanjing University of Science & Technology (NUST) -- widely considered one of the China’s best engineering schools. During the following undergraduate study, my academic records kept distinguished among the whole department. I was granted First Class Prize every semester,In 1999, I got the privilege to enter the graduate program waived of the admission test.
　　At the period of my graduate study, my overall GPA(3.77/4.0) ranked top 5% in the department. In the second semester, I became teacher assistant that is given to talented and matured students only. This year, I won the Acer Scholarship as the one and only candidate in my department, which is the ultimate accolade for distinguished students endowed by my university. Presently, I am preparing my graduation thesis and trying for the honor of Excellent Graduation Thesis.
　　Research experience and academic activityWhen a sophomore, I joined the Association of AI Enthusiast and began to narrow down my interest for my future research. With the tool of OpenGL and Matlab, I designed a simulation program for transportation scheduling system. It is now widely used by different research groups in NUST. I assumed and fulfilled a sewage analysis & dispose project for Nanjing sewage treatment plant. This was my first practice to convert a laboratory idea to a commercial product.In retrospect, I find myself standing on a solid basis in both theory and experience, which has prepared me for the Ph.D. program. My future research interests include: Network Scheduling Problem, Heuristic Algorithm research (especially in GA and Neural network), Supply chain network research, Hybrid system performance analysis with Petri nets and Data Mining.

　　没有经历过，就无法明白。
　　收到比赛的通知已是十月中旬了。只经过不足三个星期的准备，就踏上了前往竞技场的路。我怀着绝对的自信，来到佛山。路上，我看到了北方不曾有的榕树成排站立着；看到四周密密麻麻的鱼塘；看到高低不齐的民房以不可想象的距离紧挨着；看到夜色被灯光照亮，看到光下熙攘的人群。南方的一切似乎都与北方不同。
　　或许是因为考前的紧张，或许是因为对明天的一丝期待和兴奋，或许只是不适应，比赛的前夜是失眠的。早上打开试题的那一刻，我明白：竞争开始。个人的知识储备给了我底气。没有预想中的紧张，但也没有如此放松。当你意识到一件事的重要性时，当你想竭力做好它时，就会全心意的投入其中，以致，忘记了时间。考试快结束时，我才发现我的时间分配严重失调，我加快了做题速度，终于在那最后一分钟写完了倒数第二个题。信心破碎，似乎每个人都做完了所有的题，除了我。
　　人总得学会在打击中站立，在萎靡时振奋，在窘境中寻求希望。在竞赛中，知识占七分，心态占三分。好的心情对考试发挥来说非常重要。比赛还没结束，胜负还没有定局。我安慰自己，又进考场。
　　其实，将这次竞赛看作一场长见识、阔视野的旅途也不为过。见惯了平时做的高考题，再做这些竞赛题目，它们将我引入另一个地理的世界。我见到了课本所不学习的犯罪地理；见到了地图册上没有的各式样的图表；了解到世间万物、不论自然界还是人类社会与地理学科的紧密联系；意识到图表分析的重要；更深刻的体会地理的魅力。
　　中午没有休息时间。野外考察是对综合能力与体力的考察。说实话，它更像是场冒险，像是将你扔到一个陌生的地方，给你任务，完成才可生存。地理的思维真是贯穿社会发展的始终。一草一木，一屋一瓦，它的存在，都有地理方面的原因。野外考察给我的，不仅是成绩单上的那个分数，更重要的，它给了我检验能力、证明自我、了解不足、提高素养的机会。
　　一天下来，劳累过后，有种更深切的，解放了的幸福。当夜，在佛山的街道上游走，至深夜。南方的夜啊，好像不会困。
　　这次竞赛，在比赛的同时也没忘记对文化的体验。佛山的祖庙，于晨光中露出圣严；不远处的岭南新天地，彰显了一个城市的韵味与活力。在竞赛中收获了友情，在竞赛中学会与人交往。
　　成绩出来了，发现自己成了那个几天前还对此唏嘘不已的银奖第一名，很遗憾。这像是:车子要行到终点了，还差一点，油箱里却没油了。脑海中一下子浮现各样在比赛中不应出现的失误，又倍添悔恨感。但是，人的生命里，不圆满的事太多，“只差一点”的事也太多。逝去的终归是逝去，要学会接受，总结经验教训，不断避免再次失误。

　　大赛制图已经结束，但我们不会停止前进的脚步。
　　回顾一个多月的比赛过程，我们从安装软件，学习软件，再到自己亲手完成一幅作品。我们为之付出了很多，但是我们却收获了课本上永远无法习得的东西。比赛过程中，我们遇到过许多问题，我们钻研过，我们讨论过，我们争执过，但我们一直没有放弃，我们坚持到了最后。
　　战国著名思想家吕不韦曾说：“世事不难，我辈何用？”通过这次MAPGIS大赛，我们切身体会到了这句话的深刻含义。作为大一新生，我们之前从未接触过GIS软件，这次参加大赛对我们而言无疑是一种挑战。面对不懂的问题，我们上网查阅各种文献资料，积极向指导老师和大赛群里的老师进行请教。从无到有，从点线面的矢量化到空间分析，我们学会了太多太多。
　　通过这次比赛，我们对GIS有了更深刻的理解：GIS不仅仅是简单的制作电子地图，而是将一个区域的所有地理信息数字化，从而方便人们对该区域的管理。利用这些数据，还可以进行空间分析，解决各种现实问题，具有非常重要的现实意义。除此之外，这次比赛还让我认识到，身为一名GIS人，必须时刻保持严谨细致的工作态度。“失之毫厘谬以千里”这句话用于我们GIS人可以说一点也不为过，一点微小的计算偏差就有可能造成整个数据库混乱，微小的操作失误就可能导致数据精确度下降。因此制图过程中我们从未放松警惕，一丝不苟，不敢犯一点点错误，因为我们知道这是每一名GIS人都应持有的职业操守。
　　MAPGIS身为一款国产软件，在稳定性上虽然不及一些国外成熟的软件,但是它却能够完整实现GIS的相关功能，并且有着自己的特色，更符合国人的汉语操作界面。MAPGIS10今年推出的云端共享系统，更是让我们耳目一新，我们有理由有信心，相信在不久的将来，中地数码将会铸造更大的辉煌！
　　竞争与合作，这是我们组比赛过程中始终贯彻的两个名词。组员之间相互竞争，比谁绘图绘制的更精细，比谁数据计算的更准确；组员之间相互合作，合理分工，一起交流操作技巧、交换数据，一起钻研讨论问题。我们一起鼓劲熬夜做大赛，但也起过争执。在有人想要放弃坚持不下去时，我们就相互鼓励，这让我们走到了现在。我爱我的组员，感谢我能遇到他们。

　　这是我第一次带领学生参加英语大赛。最初拒绝参加，内心一直有这样一个错误的想法：学生学习好，成绩优秀就行了，没必要费时费力做这些遥远的事情。
　　因而这次参与，实属偶然，是被她新颖有趣的比赛形式所吸引。创新英语与其他英语比赛最大的不同，就是比赛形式的创新性和综合性。初赛考察学生的写作创新思维，复赛从口语、听力、写作三个方面综合考察选手的英语综合能力，而决赛夏令营的比赛活动，更是丰富多彩，为学生提供了互相学习互相进步的平台。
　　第一次辅导学生参加英语比赛，心里没有多少谱，只是要求感兴趣的同学可以报名参加，幸运的是，我的学生很给力，一下子报了十五六人。我只能不断揣摩大赛要求，和学生不断讨论修改初赛作文，力求达到最大化的创新力。可喜的是，经过我们共同的努力，初赛时我的团队里只有两名同学被刷下来，其他同学成功进入复赛。
　　复赛对学生提出了更高的要求，总决赛夏令营的比赛形式更是灵活多变，重点考察学生平时的英语积累与临场发挥能力。经过一番深思，我在班级中要求学生在每一节的英语课之初，专门开辟5-minute play。演讲，话剧，英文朗诵等形式不限，学生可单人或团队上台，最后接受班级同学的询问。一个月、两个月、三个月.....我清晰地感受到学生在上课时更有热情了，班级讨论更热烈了，学生的英语口语变得越来越溜了.....
　　当我得知我的学生中有一人获得全国一等奖，两人获得华东赛区一等奖时，心情真的很好，我们很会心地拥抱了彼此。大家一起奋斗时的一幕幕又涌现在脑海里，上课时同学们之间的“唇枪舌剑”,遇到挫折时相互的鼓励和支持；认真学习时专注的眼神......这一年，我收获的不仅仅是来自学生的奖项，更见证了学生在前进中知识的积累、自信的增加、友谊的获得，还有很多很多......
　　不管时光如何流逝，在这一年中的这些人，这些事，这些记忆，都将会是我人生旅途中一抹亮丽的色彩，永不消失！

　　我叫叶骐源，是来自广东省中山市坦洲镇长征书法工作室的一名学生。此时此刻我的心情无比激动。我之所以能够在第六届全国规范书写初赛中荣获一等奖，是在可亲可敬的程长征老师和妈妈的鼓励下一步一个脚印，通过不断努力，刻苦练习取得的。
　　下面我简要地讲讲我平时练字的体会：
　　第一，上书法课时，认真听讲，老师讲的时候一定要专心致志；第二，老师讲完示范后，要一笔一画地反复书写，直到写好为止。切记老师讲的要领，先识字（即认字），再写字（即用规范的笔画和合理的结构去书写）；然后再研究字（即研究字的构型），怎么安排结构才算合理。
　　最后，祝专家评委们身体健康！万事如意！愿同学们为发扬光大中国书法这一传统艺术不断努力，不断完美！
